We finally caught the southwesterly wind that is going to bring us to the finish.
Hard time to see Pata Negra leaving and the fleet behind coming back on us as we were stuck between the two winds.
Today is a great day: first time of the race we can wear t-shirts on deck!
We are getting a lot of sleep on those long tacks today before the short tacking session in the Channel! Not very easy to play the wind shift and current without sppedo and depth sensor. We ask the navigation software to calculate the boat speed based on the currents files and SOG and then calculate TWA and TWD based on calculated boat speed and AWA.
We will try not ground pushing to much on the coast, ahah!
We found some good french cheese yesterday in the food bags: Horace likes the Comte, not to strong and Ben enjoys the Beaufort!
Looking forward to know the corrected race time of Pata Negra so we can write on the board our deadline and see what the routings says.
Ben & Horace
